I'm betting there will be some interesting Thanksgiving dinner conversation at the Jolie Pitt household.  Brad and Angie support the president but Mrs Jane Pitt wrote to her local newspaper to denounce gay marriage and President Obama.  Jon Voight (Jolie's father) is an outspoken supporter of the Republican party.  Oh to be a fly on that wall...

Hey. I got my new shoes on...

Hi everyone (and no one since I doubt anyone is checking after my year + absence).
I got a new pair of shoes a week or two ago and it's very unusual that I didn't bust them out to wear immediately. There are two reasons for this. One: I wasn't sure how much I liked them. Obviously I couldn't return them after wearing them all day so I debated about keeping them for many days. Two: they're heels and heels hurt. I don't care what anyone says heels are not as comfortable as flats Period. Again, though, I couldn't tell how uncomfortable they'd actually be until I wore them for an extended period of time. Which of course blocks returning.
So, today I bit the bullet and have worn them on part of my commute. Ill probably change into my flats on the train as the 15 minute walk doesn't look so appealing from 4 inches taller.


CONCLUSION: these are not walking shoes. There isn't really a platform or padding in the ball of the foot so they're tough to spend a long time on. They also pinched my baby toes a bit. Definitely cute and I'll be keeping them so... Thanks Loft :)

I finally, officially have a real person job!

I'm going to be an assistant brand strategist at Horizon Media.
I'll be working on the Lifetime account and I'm SO excited!!
I start on Monday, March 21st.
There are going to be a lot of changes but I'm looking forward to taking them on.

I Love Oscar Sunday! I'm going to watch all of the coverage I can get my hands on. E! is starting specials right now - at 2pm. The Awards start at 8 and I found a printable ballot for all you followers! I've already printed it out, circled my winners, and highlighted what the critics are expecting. There are a few overlaps where the one I want to win is the one the professionals chose.

My picks for the top 3 categories are: Toy Story 3 for Best Picture, Colin Firth for Best Actor, and Natalie Portman for Best Actress.

I'm also incredibly excited to see who will be wearing what, and who they'll arrive with - the shoes, the jewels, and of course the dresses, everything is going to be beautiful and spectacular! I hope to see some bold colors, big diamonds, and amazing heels. My favorite dress so far this awards show season was Emma Stone in Calvin Klein at the Golden Globes. I think it looks absolutely fabulous on her. She might be a little too tan for the color but the dress looks Stunning. It's like a second skin. I hope someone at today's awards can pull out something this awesome.

A few years ago I tried on an Oscar-worthy dress and of course I couldn't buy it because it cost $5,000 on sale but it was nice to dream for a little while.
